Several international tools highlight the high quality and stability of the French flag in terms of security:

At the national level, the standards of the French flag in terms of safety are supported by a network of state services (16 ship safety centers) which today act under the ISM framework (ship safety management), the ISPS (ship security management) and MLC (safety and working conditions on ships).

Security guaranteed for crewmembers

Choosing the French flag gives access to arrangements in place to guarantee the security of the crewmembers throughout the World.

The maritime rescue coordination center (MRCC) Gris-Nez is the specific point of contact (SPOC) for ships under the French flag for safety and security (ship security alert system - SSAS).
The French Navy is present all over the World thanks to its 12 naval bases spread on all continents and to its diversified and modern fleet.
