Ship’s name reservation

For a ship’s entry into fleet, you shall send to the RIF Office the:

Three names shall be proposed, because the Office will verify that the proposed names do not lead to confusion with existing ships.

Moreover, the proposed names shall not interfere with service and communications, hence names such as "Breakdown", "Mayday" or "Latitude 45" are not acceptable.

Send your request to this email rif@mer.gouv.fr.

In response, the Office will send you a reservation confirmation with the name and number.
