The RIF Office’s team in Singapore for French flag promotion

The French International Register Office’s team is delighted to have participated for the second time in Singapore Maritime Week (SMW).

The French maritime administration’s delegation, lead by Mr. Eric Banel (Director General for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture - DGAMPA), and composed of Mrs. Anne Legrégeois (deputy head of the Fleets and Seafarers department in the DGAMPA), Mrs. Christine Ezcutari (president of the National High Council for Merchant Navy), Mr. Stéphane Garziano (Head of the RIF Office) and Mr. Dylan Vloëbergh-Lair (crews and RIF promotion officer) did its best to promote the French maritime assets during this major annual rendez-vous.

Through our numerous meetings with H.E. Minh Di Tang, Ambassador of France in Singapore, Mr. Eng Dih Teo, CEO of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS) and Business France, we promoted the French flag for tomorrow’s shipping.

This year, the French presence in Singapore was noticed thanks to our "French-Singaporean Maritime Networking Event", organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS), supported by the RIF Office and the French Embassy in Singapore. We had the honor of welcoming the Singaporean Minister of Transport Mr. Hong Tat Chee who delivered, alongside with H.E. Minh Di Tang and Mr. Éric Banel, an insightful speech regarding the French-Singaporean relationship from a maritime point of view. More than 220 people came to our event, from all nationalities and from all companies in the maritime sector. We thank them all.

Last but not least, this business trip was also the occasion to meet again the X-Press Feeders and Eastaway Ship Management teams, 1 year after our first meeting during SMW 2023 which made them decide to choose France and the French flag for the development of their methanol container ships fleet. We are starting a great professional cooperation in the service of the French flag.

More than ever, maritime France has the wind in her sails. The RIF Office team continues its international action for shipping that better protects seafarers, supports decarbonization and improves safety at sea.
